Summary

Having already finished transcribing, encoding, and creating the introduction for The Discovery of Witchcraft by Reginald Scot on The Kit Marlowe Project website it left me with little left to accomplish. Therefore, for this week I decided to enhance the page on Sir Roger Manwood. Last week we added the description and information I provided for the Sir Roger Manwood epistle to the page On the Death of Sir Roger Manwood. To this page I also added a picture of the painting of Sir Roger Manwood which links to the National Portrait Gallery. I also created a tile which links to a page about the eulogy Kit Marlowe wrote. This page includes an explanation for what Kit Marlowe wrote as well as a photo which links to the Perseus site which transcribed the eulogy.

Reflection

Having almost finished my internship now I have to turn to how I can best explain this internship in the form of a resume. One of the key things I would point to is the importance of self-management. I think I do a particularly good job on managing myself in terms of keeping myself on track which was very key in this internship because there’s a lot of work to get done but little time is spent in a classroom or by being managed by someone else. I know work needs to be done and I can do just that. Along with this I would also say time management, as I said there was a lot of work to be done and through this internship, I have spent my time wisely getting lots of work done and planning out week by week what needs to be done and how long it will take for it to be finished.

In my Digital Humanities internship I took the original text of The Discovery of Witchcraft by Reginald Scot and by paying close attention transcribed the text. This along with encoding the format, the people, and inserting comments required close attention to detail. Along with my own work I also proofread the work of the other students who worked on the first three epistles and chapters two and three of book one. With trying to keep this as close to the original text as possible it’s important to make sure that the text is accurate especially for research purposes. Following this I did quite a bit of research into the text itself, Reginald Scot, and one of the dedicated people Sir Roger Manwood. This aspect of the project required taking lots of information and condensing it to make it easy to understand for others.
